Job Summary:
The Area Manager is responsible for leading and managing the medical representatives’ team in their assigned region to achieve goals and market growth objectives. The role requires a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, strategic planning, and excellent team leadership skills. The Area Manager is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team management:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of medical representatives to ensure they meet or exceed targets.
- Set performance goals for the team and provide coaching, training, and regular feedback.
- Conduct regular field visits with team members to assess performance, provide on-the-job training, and ensure alignment with company standards.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, providing reports and recommendations to senior management.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders in the healthcare sector.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and act as a point of escalation for any customer concerns.
- Organize and participate in promotional activities, conferences, and medical symposia to strengthen relationships and increase product awareness.
- Market Analysis & reporting:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and challenges in the area.
- Provide regular reports to management on performance, market conditions, and competitor activities.
- Use data and insights to make informed decisions and adjustments to the business plan as necessary.
- Compliance:
- Ensure all activities and interactions with healthcare professionals are compliant with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
- Stay updated on changes in pharmaceutical regulations and ensure the team’s adherence to ethical standards in all practices.
- Resource Management:
- Manage the area’s resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
- Optimize the use of promotional materials within the region to maximize impact.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related field. A degree in Business or Marketing with relevant pharmaceutical experience may also be considered.
- Fluency in English language.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, preferably with a focus on central nervous system generic medicines. At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven track record of achieving targets and building strong customer relationships.
